> During the recent 2025 Quantum World Congress event, Governor Wes Moore announced that Microsoft will launch a quantum research center in the Discovery District thanks to a partnership between the state of Maryland, Microsoft, and the University of Maryland Enterprise Corporation.

The addition of Microsoft’s quantum research center to the Capital of Quantum will augment the quantum ecosystem in the region and accelerate quantum technology developments and innovation. The center will not only bring Microsoft employees into the research park, but also attract quantum researchers, scientists, and engineers to the region.
