> On September 16th, several elected officials, university leaders, business owners, and many others gathered at WeWork to celebrate the positive impact of the Maryland Business Opportunity Center (MBOC).

On September 16th, several elected officials, university leaders, business owners, and many others gathered at WeWork to celebrate the positive impact of the [**Maryland Business Opportunity Center (MBOC)**](https://www.marylandboc.org/home). In its first year, MBOC empowered Maryland’s small business community by supporting socially and economically disadvantaged small business owners. Aside from championing minority-owned, women-owned, veteran-owned, disabled-owned, and rural-based small businesses, MBOC provided services to 342 clients and completed numerous technical projects that fueled their growth.
