In April, the U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), announced as part of its Quantum Benchmarking Initiative (QBI), that the Capital Quantum Benchmarking Hub will be based at the Applied Research Laboratory for Intelligence and Security (ARLIS) within the Discovery DIstrict.
This hub will serve as a verification and validation testing site for evaluating quantum computing prototypes and solutions for commercial and national security applications. This cooperative agreement between DARPA and the State of Maryland provides matching contributions of up to $100 million each over a four-year period.
